01What is PRF?

A biological approach
to regenerative
treatment.

Platelet Rich Fibrin is an autologous platelet concentrate produced by centrifuging whole blood without anticoagulants. The resulting fibrin matrix contains platelets and white blood cells and is used within a range of regenerative surgical protocols.

The Choukroun approach is not simply a centrifuge. It is a protocol-driven system in which tube type, centrifugal parameters, handling and clinical timing all matter.

Clinical objective

Integrate a patient's own blood-derived fibrin matrix into regenerative workflows.

PRF can be prepared as clots, membranes, plugs or liquid fractions depending on the protocol and intended clinical application.

Clinical context

Designed to complement — not replace — sound surgical principles.

Diagnosis, case selection, biomaterial choice, surgical technique, sterility and clinical judgement remain fundamental.

02Clinical applications

Primarily regenerative dentistry.
Broader clinical possibilities.

Our main focus is oral surgery, implant dentistry and grafting. The Choukroun PRF platform also includes protocols used in periodontology and selected aesthetic and regenerative medicine settings.

From collection to clinical use

A protocol, not just a product.

  1. 01

    Blood collection

Appropriate phlebotomy and correct tube selection are the starting point for consistent preparation.

  2. 02

    Centrifugation

The chosen Choukroun protocol determines the relevant centrifugation parameters and timing.

  3. 03

    Preparation

Prepare the required clot, membrane, plug or liquid fraction according to the intended clinical workflow.

  4. 04

    Clinical integration

Use the preparation within an appropriately selected surgical or regenerative protocol.

05Frequently asked questions

PRF in
clinical practice.

Have a question about the system?

Speak to our team (opens in a new tab)
01

What does PRF stand for?

PRF stands for Platelet Rich Fibrin. Choukroun PRF protocols are based on centrifugation of whole blood without anticoagulants to prepare a fibrin matrix or liquid fraction for use in regenerative clinical workflows.

02

Is PRF only used in dentistry?

No. Our UK focus is predominantly implant dentistry, oral surgery, grafting and periodontology, but the Choukroun platform also includes products and protocols used in selected aesthetic, dermatological and orthopaedic settings.

03

What is sticky bone?

Sticky bone describes a cohesive graft mixture produced by combining a liquid PRF preparation with particulate grafting material. The technique is used within regenerative bone-grafting workflows.

04

Can my team receive phlebotomy training?

Training can include blood collection and phlebotomy fundamentals alongside PRF preparation and clinical protocols. The appropriate training route depends on professional role, previous experience and intended scope of use.

05

Where can I buy the system in the UK?

PRF equipment and consumables can be sourced through Regen Biologics. Use the shop or contact links on this page for current product information, availability and training options.
